How are entries submitted?
All entries must be submitted online digitally, through their respective online entry forms. The Monthly Design Contest requires you to fill in our online form and submit a valid URL for review.
For the Semi Annual Design Contest, you must register your artwork through our six step registration process. Although your online registration and digital artwork are enough for our judges to grade your entry properly, some designers choose to also mail in their actual design pieces for a more in-depth evaluation. This is optional, but recommended if your submitted piece has multiple pages, or elements which can not be viewed in the one or two images you are uploading. Once you complete the online registration, you may mail your actual design piece along with a copy of your invoice to:

How does American Design Awards grade design entries?
Monthly Design Contest: Websites scoring more than 70 points are awarded a silver, gold, or platinum award. Semi Annual Design Contest: Designers who finish as the top three (3) score-getters in each design category will receive a first (1st), second (2nd), or third (3rd) place accolade. All designs are judged and graded by real life design professional or design educators, and are based on the following formula:
What prizes are offered? How does one claim their winnings?
Monthly Design Contest winners receive an electronic banner for placement on their winning website, as well as a listing in that month's winners page. Semi Annual Design Contest winners receive the above-mentioned items, as well as a personalized certificate, promotional products, and any sponsor prizes (if available).
Why are you given the opportunity to purchase a certificate or plaque?
Only Semi-Annual Design Contest winners receive personalized certificates free of charge. This is because these contests are funded by sponsors, entry fees, or both. The Monthly Design Contest however does not have an entry fee, nor corporate sponsorship, and therefore we can not financially provide an award to anyone who wins an accolade. We do however provide all winners in all our events the option to purchase these accolades through our vendor for a fair cost.
How long does it take to grade entries or publish the results?
On average Monthly Design Contest entries are reviewed up to 60 days after the close of an event. Semi Annual Design Contest entries are reviewed 30 days after the close of the event. Please allow up to two weeks after the review period for posting of the winner's names.
Once the winners are posted, you will receive an email with further instructions on how to go about collecting your winnings. If you did not receive this notice, please email us with your name, email address, event in which you won an accolade, date of winning, and name of entry/URL.
